Seychelles (
i/seɪˈʃɛlz/ say-SHELZ; French: [sɛʃɛl]), officially the Republic of Seychelles (French: République des Seychelles; Creole: Repiblik Sesel), is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean. The 115-island country, whose capital is Victoria, lies 1,500 kilometres (932 mi) east of mainland East Africa. Other nearby island countries and territories include Comoros, Mayotte, Madagascar, Réunion and Mauritius to the south.
Seychelles, with a population of 90,024, has the smallest population of any independent African state; however, it does have a larger population than the UK overseas territory Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.
History
The Seychelles were uninhabited throughout most of recorded history. Some scholars assume that Austronesian seafarers and later Maldivian and Arab traders were the first to visit the uninhabited Seychelles. The earliest recorded sighting by Europeans took place in 1502 by the Portuguese Admiral Vasco da Gama, who passed through the Amirantes and named them after himself (islands of the Admiral). The earliest recorded landing was in January 1609, by the crew of the "Ascension" under Captain Sharpeigh during the fourth voyage of the British East India Company.

For us, the best luxury resort in the Seychelles is Fregate Island. There are several reasons for which this unique resort is our favorite in the Seychelles.
First, it is extremely private with only 10 villas available for the clients in 2022. Therefore, you can be sure you’ll feel truly alone and can enjoy some luxurious vacations in one of the most beautiful place and resort in the world.
Second, the island is pure beauty with all the nature that has been perfectly respected. There, you’ll be able to see 3000+ tortoises and thousands of beautiful birds flying around. The snorkeling around the island is also amazing.
To make it the best resort in the Seychelles and very likely one of the best in the world, Fregate also offer 5* service and delicious food.

The second best 5* hotel in the Seychelles in 2022 is Anantara Maia. This All-inclusive resort in Mahe offers 30 luxury villas with private pool and private Buttler to make your experience as dreamy as possible.
We really loved this resort for the quality of the villas, the food, the 6* service and its world-known Anantara Spa.
If you’re looking for the best resort in the Seychelles for your honeymoon, this place is really a good option as it offers very personalised service and you can be sure your butler(s) will surprise you with many nice private events (on the beach, on the helipad,…).
As one of the best resorts in the Seychelles, it includes in its All-inclusive offer diving. Make sure to go try it as the underwater in the Seychelles is a true beauty.

On third position of our top 4 of the best luxury resorts in the Seychelles, we’ve put Six Senses Zil Pasyon. This 5* resort is located on the private island of Felicite Island. This island is truly beautiful with amazing beaches and the nature has been perfectly respected to leave a true Crusoe experience. The beaches are world-class (particularly Grande Anse) where you’ll very often feel alone.
Six Senses Zil Pasyon only hosts 30 villas, all with private pool and huge outside area. It is definitely one of the best resorts in the Seychelles and you can be sure you won’t be disappointed if you go there for your vacations or your honeymoon.

#4 FOUR SEASONS SEYCHELLES (MAHE) 4️⃣
In 4th position of our ranking of the best 5* hotels in the Seychelles, there’s Four Seasons Mahe. Don’t get us wrong, this resort is excellent but we had to find a winner and a « last » in our selection. Four Seasons Mahe truly deserves its position among the best resorts in the Seychelles in 2022 thanks to very comfortable villas (all with infinity pool), 6* service from start to finish (in the restaurant, at the spa, at the pool, absolutely everywhere) and very likely the most beautiful beach in Mahe.
The only reason why it’s ranking 4th in our top 4 of the best resorts in the Seychelles is because it’s relatively big compared to the 3 other resorts of our ranking. Count a little bit more than 65 villas + many private residences. This « huge » resort is maybe not the best you can find in the Seychelles if you value privacy a lot. Despite this, it’s still a very romantic resort and a perfect spot for honeymoon.

First, it is extremely private with only 10 villas available for the clients in 2022. Therefore, you can be sure you’ll feel truly alone and can enjoy some luxurious vacations in one of the most beautiful place and resort in the world.
Second, the island is pure beauty with all the nature that has been perfectly respected. There, you’ll be able to see 3000+ tortoises and thousands of beautiful birds flying around. The snorkeling around the island is also amazing.

The second best 5* hotel in the Seychelles in 2022 is Anantara Maia. This All-inclusive resort in Mahe offers 30 luxury villas with private pool and private Buttler to make your experience as dreamy as possible.
We really loved this resort for the quality of the villas, the food, the 6* service and its world-known Anantara Spa.
If you’re looking for the best resort in the Seychelles for your honeymoon, this place is really a good option as it offers very personalised service and you can be sure your butler(s) will surprise you with many nice private events (on the beach, on the helipad,…).
As one of the best resorts in the Seychelles, it includes in its All-inclusive offer diving. Make sure to go try it as the underwater in the Seychelles is a true beauty.

On third position of our top 4 of the best luxury resorts in the Seychelles, we’ve put Six Senses Zil Pasyon. This 5* resort is located on the private island of Felicite Island. This island is truly beautiful with amazing beaches and the nature has been perfectly respected to leave a true Crusoe experience. The beaches are world-class (particularly Grande Anse) where you’ll very often feel alone.
Six Senses Zil Pasyon only hosts 30 villas, all with private pool and huge outside area. It is definitely one of the best resorts in the Seychelles and you can be sure you won’t be disappointed if you go there for your vacations or your honeymoon.

#4 FOUR SEASONS SEYCHELLES (MAHE) 4️⃣
In 4th position of our ranking of the best 5* hotels in the Seychelles, there’s Four Seasons Mahe. Don’t get us wrong, this resort is excellent but we had to find a winner and a « last » in our selection. Four Seasons Mahe truly deserves its position among the best resorts in the Seychelles in 2022 thanks to very comfortable villas (all with infinity pool), 6* service from start to finish (in the restaurant, at the spa, at the pool, absolutely everywhere) and very likely the most beautiful beach in Mahe.
The only reason why it’s ranking 4th in our top 4 of the best resorts in the Seychelles is because it’s relatively big compared to the 3 other resorts of our ranking. Count a little bit more than 65 villas + many private residences. This « huge » resort is maybe not the best you can find in the Seychelles if you value privacy a lot. Despite this, it’s still a very romantic resort and a perfect spot for honeymoon.

Seychelles (i/seɪˈʃɛlz/ say-SHELZ; French: [sɛʃɛl]), officially the Republic of Seychelles (French: République des Seychelles; Creole: Repiblik Sesel), is an archipelago in the Indian Ocean. The 115-island country, whose capital is Victoria, lies 1,500 kilometres (932 mi) east of mainland East Africa. Other nearby island countries and territories include Comoros, Mayotte, Madagascar, Réunion and Mauritius to the south.
Seychelles, with a population of 90,024, has the smallest population of any independent African state; however, it does have a larger population than the UK overseas territory Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.
History
The Seychelles were uninhabited throughout most of recorded history. Some scholars assume that Austronesian seafarers and later Maldivian and Arab traders were the first to visit the uninhabited Seychelles. The earliest recorded sighting by Europeans took place in 1502 by the Portuguese Admiral Vasco da Gama, who passed through the Amirantes and named them after himself (islands of the Admiral). The earliest recorded landing was in January 1609, by the crew of the "Ascension" under Captain Sharpeigh during the fourth voyage of the British East India Company.
